Jokes apart, the thought of error propagation and correction of quantum states never really occurred to me, as a layperson observer. Being accustomed to the idea of binary (and analog) error-correction had put this in the "solved problems" category. But of course, now one realises, given the reality of the observer effect, it is bound to be a nasty problem.
