I'm not American, but I did move to the USA because I liked American principles, culture, and money so take from that what you will.

The OPO stuff etc. is obviously an American thing but I'm pretty sure no transplant surgeon in the world works for free.

Why should they work for free?! It's a skilled profession, doing good in the world for people who need it.

That's right. They needn't. And I'm not going to let go of my organs for free either. I'm comfortable with that outcome.
