The warranty on my MacBook expired, but Apple replaced the keyboard under their "Quality" coverage program.

So, to some extent I felt they "admitted" the mistake. But when the new keyboard fails, and the repair costs fall on me, I'll be looking for an alternative.

For comparison, my 2012 MacBook Air keyboard still rocks.
