Sounds pretty accurate to me...



Actually, entering my first job at a large software company, I was pleasantly surprised by how many people maintained lives outside their jobs. Fixing up houses, teaching Sunday school, racing bikes, volunteering. I believe a hobby is not really a hobby if its what you do for a living. And when Halloween rolls around, I'm reminded how many people have real responsibility (e.g. Children)

Only if you're lucky. If you're not they make you go fix other people's computers and pull cables and stuff like that.

Or they make you a manager or a sales engineer and you don't get to write code anymore.


If a programmer really types 12 hours a day, something is amiss...
