It's your own damn fault. This is what happends when you have too many useless friends on facebook.Start managing your newsfeed.

No it's not. It'll show a friend commented on something irrelevant in a public group I'm not a member of in the morning and not show the same friend broke up with their fiancee who is also a friend later that day. Removing them as a friend wouldn't have solved that. It's impossible to correctly guess the 'importance' of these types of things 100% of the time but surely they can do better than they are doing now.

As far as I can remember you can choose what updates you receive from different persons and you can also prioritize this by creating groups like "close friends",but as you said they can do better than this.

This is really useful.I'm sick of all those online apk downloading blogs full of spam.Thank You.

I have been less active since I lost my up voting (my fault,I had a few days when I up voted everything that hit the frontpage) and flag (no idea here) capabilities but there's no way I'm leaving hacker news. I find more interesting content here than on any other site. You can probably configure reddit to get a similar output but it's not the same thing.

Strange.I just checked my upvote doesn't count either.

Not exactly accurate. pg modified the required karma for flagging a few months ago. It's probably over 1000 now.

Nah, I have much less Karma than that and I have "flag" buttons but no downvote buttons.

Probably that change didn't affect newer accounts ?

I feel the need to comment as I also had the same bleak slightly amused face. This was better than all the funny stuff I've seen on the Internet today.

-deleted google account. -abandoned gmail, started using riseup. -trying out duckduckgo.

+already switched to Linux and started encrypting my hard drives long ago.

The only problem I still have is Facebook.I can't leave because of the groups.

Great.Another way to troll random 4chan users. Expecting "install gentoo","remove kebab" and worse.

SomethingAwful has footer ads that are very community-flavored. It's actually kind of fun.

Sounds like a grass roots community!

kebab pls

You should try newsbeuter.

Why choose google plus as a way to sustain this kind of community ?

Like putting a "Protect the Environment" bumper sticker on a Hummer.

Duh? Ease of access.
