So, DoD has done what it said it would. And OpenAI has jumped on the opportunity.

I'm curious what'll openai signatories on notdivided.org do now - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47188473

Remain undivided in spirit while grinding for OpenAI?

"jumped on the opportunity" is possible, but per https://garymarcus.substack.com/p/the-whole-thing-was-scam it's plausible that OpenAI created this situation through straightforward bribery.

Maybe this is the first step towards the Big Beautiful Bailout when the AI bubble inevitably pops.

Congress must approve any renaming the Department of Defense... They haven't. Stop giving them what they want without them even doing it in good faith at all.

Pretty ironic because for once, they went with the more accurate description instead of the euphemisms. It's no longer "protecting freedom of speech" or "ending wars," just full-on bombings and invasions with glee.

Thanks for pointing this out. Updated my post

They'll do nothing. It's really hard to take the morals of these devs seriously when they're already fine working for, and have a history with, some of the most evil companies in current existence.

And when you suggest unions and worker organization to them they gloat that the company takes better care of them without it. They don't want to be in the same class as the peasantry.

In Hegseth's voice - No longer politically correct "DoD". It's precisely violent DoW now.

don't know about Israel, but for the USA, it means "midterm is coming"

I guess if your magazine's index reaches the height to have its wikipedia page, then, although it might not be right, but it will be pretty credible.

Anyone can have a Wikipedia page? There is no hurdle.

so, Epstein has turned out to be the greatest asset for Netanyahu.

Epstein files have more potent power in them than any nuclear arsenal.

No way this many rich powerful people would go down without destroying at least half of the world.

It seems the admin would rather you focus on DoW or DOW. Any mention of Epstein is getting downvoted.

Is this a deflection? I'd be asking this question of any admin. I cannot stand what Obama and Biden let Merrick Garland get away with.

With you on the other things (we wouldn't be in this position if the Biden admin had had any interest in enforcing laws), but, other than his purely symbolic nomination, what role did Merrick Garland have in the Obama administration that Obama could "let him get away with" anything?

I'd cancelled my subscription earlier this month organically as I wasn't getting any net positive value.

BTW, what's going to hurt their business more, deleting my account or using the free tier?

I've found the free tier to be extremely limited recently, but in a stochastic way. Some days I ask one friggin question and it tells me I only have two questions left and should upgrade. I just switch to a different model.

Altman is also on Paul Graham's legendary founders list. I hope that clears up a thing or two.

Just one thing - unless you're at a principal level or higher, don't quit as long as your conscience can take it. You'll be replaced by 10 other people overnight.
