Will my landlord accept these 'compute tokens' as payment if I can't pay my rent in actual cash thanks to AI taking jobs away?

In the dogpatch maybe?

Uh what is dogpatch?

Are we in a bubble here?

> Part of this is jealousy (yes, I said it)

This feels like cope here.

They want to get rid of SWE because they are highly paid (in the US especially) and they want them for cheap (e.g. Bangalore, London)

AI just makes it a no brainer.

Also I don't think there is anything wrong with everyone being a software engineer, more accessibility to the SWE field for all is great.

Current SWE's will just need to now adapt quicker to remain relevant, and those that can't will just then leave the field.

Perhaps those that don't adapt were probably not good engineers anyway.

That's like saying that the chefs who didn't want to adapt when their restaurant became a McDonald's were probably not the good chefs anyway.

Unfortunately you need to get with the times, or get left behind.

This is fine.

The internet is going to be filled with bots anyway so might as well restrict it to this age group. They should be outdoors with no access to the internet.

Why not extend this to under 25s or the elderly?

I'm sure the online safety act also needs to extend this to chatbots and anything that can heavily manipulate and distort this age group.

They won't be restricting the age group from the internet. They will be restricting the internet. That's not fine. There is no feasible way to restrict the internet for an exclusive group, it's the internet!

You forgot the /s for the sarcasm challenged

I don't see any reason to be depressed?

Maybe stop watching and avoid the news?

The idea that you need to avoid knowing what's happening in the world to avoid being depressed is, itself, incredibly depressing.

Not exactly an option when my house might be gone

Then pay for the content to get access?

Good.

However, RSS doesn't make money for journalists and reader view just bypasses paid content.

How does this support the works of writers?

In my view they will just turn off RSS (Which is being scraped for free by content violating AI scrapers for free) and go towards more hard paywalls.

I expect more of them to adopt the hard paywall format like The Information.

And AI will just shut out people just starting their careers

Too bad I guess.

Monetization means enshittification.

That's so true. Can you tell me about your project?
